KLIK TOMBOL DIBAWAH INI UNTUK MASUK

Kongor Studios and Garena have officially roro4d announced the launch date and Open Beta for Heroes of Newerth Reborn. The remake will enter open beta on November 11, 2025, where all players can experience this classic MOBA with improved visuals and improved network performance.
The game was originally released by S2 Games in 2010 as a MOBA heavily inspired by DotA custom maps. HoN became extremely popular due to its faster gameplay and somewhat more hardcore gameplay compared to other MOBAs at the time.
The official HoN service was subsequently shut down on June 20, 2022. However, before that, a fan community took over via private servers like Project Kongor and continued to maintain its existence until plans for a remake emerged.
In January 2025, a studio called Kongor Studios (formed by former S2 developers and community members) and publisher Garena announced a remake titled Heroes of Newerth: Reborn. This game is built on a new engine (Juvio Engine) and will officially run on the Juvio platform (formerly iGames).
Based on official information and trailers, here are the key features:
The initial roster will include “over 80 heroes,” compared to the classic version, which had around 139 heroes at its peak. 100-tick servers and improved network infrastructure for smoother performance.
Visual, audio, and UI updates: remastered audio, modern visual effects, a cleaner UI that remains true to the HoN identity. Several new mechanics, such as “Ravens” for vision assistance, the Phoenix boss, and a role queue system for matchmaking.
Platform exclusive: the game is not on Steam at this stage, but via the Juvio platform.
HoN initially shared many similarities with DotA’s custom maps—difficulty levels, complex item builds, and a high snowball mechanic. As a result, it was often considered a “faster, more aggressive version” of Dota 2 at the time. However, after Dota 2 was released by Valve and received significant support, HoN lost momentum.
HoN: Reborn has the potential to offer an alternative for players looking for a “Dota-style MOBA” but with an updated network. However, with a smaller roster (80+ heroes versus Dota 2’s continued addition of more heroes), there’s the potential for it to feel “less deep” than Dota 2.
League of Legends offers a more accessible MOBA experience (mass reach), a lighter aesthetic, and a highly advanced monetization system. HoN used to be more hardcore, and Reborn tries to balance nostalgia and accessibility. In terms of community and brand awareness, LoL is still far ahead.
For Reborn, the challenge is: can it attract new players in addition to existing fans? If it leans too hard toward the hardcore, it could struggle to compete with the more casual-friendly LoL.
The MOBA market in Indonesia is large and active—the presence of an alternative like HoN: Reborn could open up new options for players bored with LoL or Dota 2.
Nostalgia for players who used to play HoN could be a powerful magnet.
If the local community is supportive, local competitions or small tournaments could emerge that attract attention.
However, it’s important to see how the developer will support the SEA/Indonesian version—language, local servers, and community events could be key to success here.
“Heroes of Newerth: Reborn” is an ambitious project: not just a remake, but an attempt to revive a classic MOBA with new technology and mechanics. For longtime fans, it’s a great opportunity to return to the battlefield. For new players, it could be a fresh choice between two MOBA giants.
The challenge is clear: can Reborn penetrate a mature market and compete globally? The answer will be revealed after the open beta. For the Indonesian community—it’s time to prepare your PC, prepare your friends for the queue, and get ready to welcome a new era of MOBA.
